Reply with quote | #17 | Ciao everyone
I found your site last night while browsing and I really like it! Lots of interesting articles and a great portal for us Italy lovers!
I am Hannah and I have lived in Tuscany for a year now, in the Val D'Orcia on Monte Amiata. I love it here, it's so peaceful, close to nature and the people are so friendly! I have been teaching myself some tuscan dishes (One great passion of mine is food!) and have really enjoyed myself in the process. This weekend there will be a Sagra di Funghi, quite literally on our doorstep! I can't wait to try the new season's funghi and see what dishes are prepared. Autumn is coming here now, although it's still warm in the day. The trees and leaves are turning golden amber and there is a hint of smokiness in the air at dusk, when people light their fires to keep warm and cosy indoors. It's amazing! I always thought I was a city girl until I came here. Now I love to listen to the owls calling, the wild boar hoglets snuffling in the middle of the night and seeing the porcupine doing his nightly rounds outside! I am here with my partner, who is a Tuscan Garden Designer by trade. I am a photographer and I have been amazed at the beautiful nature that abounds here, totally unspoilt! It really is something very special and I feel honoured to be here.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to know more about this area, I love talking about it and discovering more each day.
Best wishes
Hannah

Reply with quote | #19 | Ciao folks!
I'm an Italian young woman from a town in province of Bologna, in a few weeks I'll move near Alessandria because of my boyfriend's job. I'm web writer, pro blogger, wishful freelance journalist, scrapbooking consultant, I'm also sales agent for online courses of journalism-writing-translation and mystery shopper, keen for photography too.
I'm a very curious and creative girl, I recently open a blog about Italy and everything related to it, telling about my life, opinions and experiences; it's called "The Italian Voice", if you want to discover something about my world, you can reach me at http://theitalianvoice.today.com.
I hope to know you all and also to contribute to this forum with my knowledges. Remember that I'd be happy to meet you here; if you decide to visit Italy, please let me know it and I'll be your guide in my area !
TTYL, ciao,
Desi

Reply with quote | #24 | The area where I reside is full of Italian restaurants and bakeries. Italians immigrated here during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is hard for me to pick an absolute because all of them have their own unique Italian cuisine but if I had to choose, I would say Cafe Capri Italian Bar & Grill.
I noticed it is quiet here on the forum. __________________ America prima, Italiano cuore. |
